Mollie Gallagher leaves Coronation Street after seven years

Actress Mollie Gallagher has departed the ITV soap opera Coronation Street after nearly seven years in the role of Nina Lucas. Gallagher, who joined the cast in 2019, described the position as her “first ever acting job” and a “dream role.”

During her tenure, her character was involved in several significant storylines, including a hate crime arc that addressed the de-stigmatization of the goth community. Gallagher expressed gratitude on social media, noting her pride as a working-class actor from Salford to be part of a show that “feels like home.”

Gallagher is leaving the series to pursue other projects, including a stage production of the psychological horror Silence of the Lambs, where she will portray Clarice Starling. While she is exiting the show, the door remains open for a potential future return.
