Mollie Gallagher to leave Coronation Street for stage role

Mollie Gallagher, who portrays Nina Lucas on the ITV soap Coronation Street, is set to depart the series after nearly seven years. The character's exit storyline involves Nina securing a new job at an art gallery in Whitby, a move encouraged by Roy Cropper.

Gallagher is transitioning from television to professional theatre, having been cast as Clarice Starling in a stage adaptation of ‘The Silence of the Lambs’. The production will feature a UK tour and includes actors John Partridge and Oliver Farnworth.
