Molly Neal appointed to lead unified rail communications

Molly Neal, the current Group Director of Communications at Network Rail, has been appointed as the Integrated Communications Director for both DFTO and Network Rail. This marks the first time the two organizations will share a unified communications function.

The move is designed to align strategic messaging across the UK railway system as it undergoes a transition toward the establishment of Great British Railways (GBR). In her new role, Neal will serve on the Executive Leadership Teams of both Network Rail and DFTO, while also acting as the Head of Profession for corporate affairs and communications across the sector.

Her remit includes internal and external communications, media relations, digital and social media, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, and community relations. The integration aims to mirror the operational unification of track and train services currently being implemented in preparation for GBR.
