Molly Tea removes Chiikawa collaboration cups following injury reports

Molly Tea has pulled its Chiikawa collaboration glass cup sets from sale and initiated a full refund process following reports that the products were prone to shattering. Multiple consumers reported that the cups broke easily, even when being rinsed with room-temperature water.

One consumer reportedly suffered a vascular injury from flying glass shards and required surgery. The brand has stated it will take full responsibility for the injured party and is coordinating compensation. While the product packaging indicates the cups are made of high borosilicate glass with a temperature resistance of 0 to 100 degrees Celsius, the brand has ordered a third-party inspection to verify quality.

In addition to removing the items from all channels, Molly Tea has isolated existing stock and is conducting a source investigation. The manufacturer, Hebei Xinshishang Glass Products Co., Ltd., stated that all products passed factory inspections and suggested the breakage might result from improper user handling, noting they are awaiting instructions from Molly Tea on how to respond.
