Moloken releases self-titled fifth album

The Swedish sludge and post-metal band Moloken, hailing from Umeå, has released their fifth self-titled album via Discouraged Records after a six-year hiatus. The new work reflects a period of personal loss and change for the group.

The album features a blend of sludge, doom, and post-metal, incorporating elements of clean vocals, acoustic passages, and Nordic folk influences. Tracks such as the instrumental opener ‘The Burden of Our Awareness’ and the expansive ‘Eternal Sleep’ demonstrate the band’s ability to shift between hypnotic, slow tempos and intense, heavy sections led by vocalist and bassist Nicklas Bäckström.
