Molten Ventures raises £175m fund for UK tech scale-ups
Molten Ventures, a London-listed venture capital firm, has raised £175 million for a new growth fund designed to support high-growth technology scale-ups in the UK and Europe. The fundraising was led by the British Business Bank, which provided a cornerstone investment of £75 million. The fund targets sectors such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and space technology. Molten Ventures aims to expand the total fund size to £350 million by seeking additional investors.
The initiative addresses concerns regarding a shortage of later-stage capital for British companies, which has led to fears of an exodus of high-quality startups from the UK market.
Separately, Molten Ventures announced a transaction in its own shares. Between September 1 and September 4, 2026, Deutsche Bank AG, acting on behalf of the company, purchased 200,000 ordinary shares as part of a previously announced share repurchase programme.
