Momentum Movement secures correction from M1 News
The Momentum Movement requested a formal correction from public media following inaccuracies during the first broadcast of the restarted M1 News program. During the August 20th coverage, the news program stated that political parties had not organized separate celebrations for the national holiday, claiming only the Tisza Party held a gathering on Margaret Island.
Momentum countered this by noting they held a large-scale event involving bread baking, music, and discussions at Petőfi Square in Budapest. The party emphasized that true media renewal requires reporting based on facts rather than unverified claims.
In its subsequent broadcast, the public media outlet acknowledged the error and issued an apology to the party. While the outlet noted the original statement was intended to refer to parliamentary parties, Momentum described the speed and correctness of the apology as a positive step toward the independent and credible public service media expected following the regime change.
