Momina Iqbal disputes clearance of Saqib Chadhar in harassment case

A legal dispute involving Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal and PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar has escalated following a court hearing in Lahore. During proceedings before Additional Sessions Judge Nusrat Siddiqui, an investigating officer informed the court that Saqib Chadhar and his wife, Sameera, had been cleared of harassment and threat allegations. Consequently, the pair withdrew their applications for interim bail.

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has replaced the previous investigation team with a Joint Investigation Team (JIT). This move has faced significant opposition from Momina Iqbal’s legal counsel, who argued that the change was made without notifying her side and questioned how the new team reached a conclusion of innocence without a complete investigation.

Conflicting accounts have emerged regarding the case's status. While Saqib Chadhar claimed a victory in court, Momina Iqbal’s husband, Hamza Habib, challenged this assertion on social media. Habib stated that the NCCIA has instead ordered a fresh investigation and demanded official notice to verify the claims. Momina Iqbal has vowed to release all evidence of harassment on social media to ensure public transparency.
