MoMo Fintech Lab enters zonal bootcamp phase in Ghana
The 2026 MoMo Fintech Lab, organized by MobileMoney Fintech Limited (MMFL), has transitioned into its zonal bootcamp and hackathon pitch phase. The initiative received between 1,000 and 1,700 entries from across Ghana, targeting developers, students, and early-stage startups aiming to create market-ready financial technology solutions.
Zonal activities are being held in Tamale, Kumasi, and Accra to provide regional access to mentorship and technical training. Innovation trends vary by region: the Northern Zone focuses on agricultural fintech, the Middle Zone emphasizes SME and merchant solutions, and the Southern Zone prioritizes payment innovations and digital transaction accessibility.
Shortlisted participants undergo technical assessments and live prototyping to prepare for expert panels. The program, which receives support from regulatory stakeholders including the Bank of Ghana, will conclude with a Demo Day. The overall winner is set to receive a GH¢100,000 grant and ongoing mentorship to develop a commercially viable business.
