Momo Tomita discusses personal growth at ‘Mame to Mugi’ press conference

Actor Momo Tomita shared personal reflections during a press conference for the upcoming TV Tokyo drama ‘Mame to Mugi’, which is scheduled to premiere on October 2. Appearing alongside co-stars Asuka Saito and Noritaka Hamao, Tomita discussed how his perspective on professional growth has evolved.

Reflecting on the theme of ‘fermentation’—representing things that were once bitter but have since become nourishment—Tomita spoke about his past feelings of inadequacy. He recalled a period in his late teens and early twenties when his peers began traveling to studios in private cars, leaving him to use public transportation. At the time, he felt a sense of envy and anxiety.

However, Tomita stated that he now views commuting by train as a beneficial part of his life as an actor. He noted that it allows him to observe various people and maintain a connection to ordinary life, which he finds advantageous for his craft. He emphasized that his primary focus remains on his performance and the support of the cast and staff on set.
