Mon Laferte faces controversy following airport encounter with fan

Chilean singer Mon Laferte has sparked social media controversy following an encounter with a fan, Manuel Armenta, at an airport in Mexico.

Armenta reported that while the singer was initially cordial and accepted flowers he brought, the interaction turned tense when discussing her latest album, ‘Femme Fatale Vol. 2’. After Armenta admitted he had not connected with the new material and preferred her earlier work, Laferte allegedly told him, “If you are a true fan, you will accept a hug.”

According to Armenta, as the singer departed, she remarked that a “true fan” who waited at the airport would know all of her songs. Armenta expressed disappointment over being disqualified as a follower simply because he did not enjoy her most recent project, noting that fans have the right to not enjoy every stage of an artist's career.
