Rød-Larsen, a key architect of the Oslo Accords and former president of the International Peace Institute (IPI), has expressed deep regret for his relationship with Epstein, stating he should have severed ties sooner.
Financial scrutiny has focused on the IPI, which received 116 million NOK from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs during Rød-Larsen's 15-year tenure. A KPMG review identified approximately 650,000 dollars in Epstein-related donations to the institute between 2010 and 2020. Additionally, reports indicate Rød-Larsen received a personal loan of 130,000 dollars from Epstein. Økokrim has noted that the investigation involves significant international cooperation.
