Mona Keijzer is facing scrutiny regarding her political rhetoric and the potential impact of her new movement, ‘Project 2029’. Critics, including Forum voor Democratie MP Pepijn van Houwelingen, have accused Keijzer of hypocrisy. While Keijzer has publicly advocated for a halt to asylum seekers, official voting records from the Tweede Kamer indicate that she and her faction previously voted in favor of a motion that did not align with these hardline stances.

Simultaneously, recent political polling shows little shift in the Dutch seat distribution, though Keijzer’s new initiative is being closely monitored. Estimates suggest her movement could potentially secure between 6 and 8 seats, with a total potential of up to 25 seats depending on execution. The movement faces significant competition from parties such as JA21, while drawing interest from approximately one-third of voters from the PVV, BBB, and 50PLUS.
