Mona Neubaur nominated as Green Party lead candidate in NRW

The Green Party in North Rhine-Westphalia has unanimously nominated Mona Neubaur as its lead candidate for the upcoming state election. Neubaur, the 49-year-old Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection, and Energy, will lead the party's campaign for the election scheduled for April 25, 2027.

Neubaur previously led the party through the 2022 election. Since then, she has served in a black-green coalition alongside the CDU, a partnership established by Minister-President Hendrik Wüst. A state delegates' conference in Essen this November will finalize the candidate list and the election program.
