Monaco hosts youth Olympic Day activities and Pàijeda martial arts competition
Monaco recently hosted several sporting events focused on youth and martial arts. To celebrate Olympic Day 2026, the Monaco Olympic Committee, in partnership with the Direction of National Education, Youth and Sports, organized a series of workshops for CM1 students. The initiative, inspired by the International Olympic Committee’s ‘Let’s Move’ campaign, utilized the Kids’ Athletics program to promote physical activity through running, jumping, and throwing.
Additionally, the 2nd Monaco Pàijeda Open took place at the Espace Saint Antoine. This martial arts competition, held under the aegis of the Monaco Pàijeda Federation, saw over 100 competitors aged 6 to 14 participate in technical and combat disciplines. The event was attended by the Princely Family, including Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène. The competition featured a demonstration of ‘Pàijeda Assaut,’ a combat format described by founder Claude Pouget as a ‘quadrathlon of combat sports.’
