Monagas foundation implements early stimulation program for infants

The Fundación Regional El Niño Simón Monagas is conducting an early stimulation program in Monagas, Venezuela, to enhance the linguistic, motor, sensory, and cognitive skills of infants. Held every Wednesday in the foundation's physiotherapy and occupational therapy rooms, the initiative targets children from birth until they achieve key motor milestones such as crawling, sitting, and independent walking.

The program is part of social policies led by Governor Ernesto Luna and the foundation, presided over by Sorenelly Zambrano de Luna. It specifically serves patients referred by medical professionals, such as pediatricians or physiotherapists, who have histories of obstetric risk or complications during childbirth. Occupational therapist Verónica Espinoza noted that sessions use professional, playful activities to support neurodevelopment at each child's individual pace.
