Monagas workers face unsustainable economic crisis

In Monagas, Venezuela, labor representatives have denounced an unsustainable economic situation for workers. Alfredo José Conde, a spokesperson for the Confederación General de Trabajadores (CGT), stated that low wages are failing to cover basic food baskets and the rising daily cost of living.

Conde highlighted that the lack of financial guarantees prevents workers from meeting basic needs, including transportation costs. He specifically noted that educators are struggling to afford the commute to their workplaces. He described the situation as catastrophic, noting that many workers cannot access essential goods or services with current salary levels.
