Monaki discusses tour goals and Kohaku Uta Gassen aspirations

The four-member musical group Monaki—consisting of Oyone, Jin, Sakai Jr., and Kenken—held a press conference regarding their first tour, ‘Monaki Yade☆Shiran kedo’, following recent successes. The group, which debuted in April as a junior act to Junretsu, has seen significant social media engagement, with their debut song surpassing 1.5 billion views.

During the event, members discussed their future ambitions. Kenken expressed a desire to perform at the Nippon Budokan, following in the footsteps of Junretsu. Oyone also shared an aspiration to perform at the Kohaku Uta Gassen this year, noting the significance of performing alongside Junretsu member Shirakawa before his upcoming graduation.

In a separate segment on their variety program ‘Kanmuri Monaki’, fortune teller Shuhei Shimada provided readings for the members. Shimada predicted that Kenken might face potential controversy or ‘flaming’ in late 2026 due to his impulsive nature, advising him to practice cleaning to improve his luck. The segment also revealed that one member shares a specific palmistry trait with baseball star Shohei Ohtani.
