Monark ordered to pay R$ 100,000 for comments on Nazi party

Influencer Bruno Aiub, known as Monark, has been ordered by a São Paulo court to pay R$ 100,000 in collective moral damages. The ruling follows statements made in 2022 during a podcast appearance, where he advocated for the legal recognition of a Nazi party in Brazil.

The decision, issued by Judge Adriana Cardoso dos Reis of the 37th Central Civil Court, determined that freedom of expression does not protect antisemitic manifestations. The funds will be directed to the State Fund for the Defense of Diffuse Interests (FID). Monark’s defense maintains that his comments did not constitute support for Nazism and has announced intentions to appeal the sentence.
