Monash University and CyberCX launch Australia’s first Bachelor of CyberAI degree

Monash University has partnered with cybersecurity firm CyberCX, part of Accenture, to co‑design and co‑deliver a three‑year Bachelor of CyberAI (Industry Co‑Lab). The degree was unveiled by Monash Vice‑Chancellor Professor Sharon Pickering and CyberCX CEO John Paitaridis and will be offered to domestic students from Semester 1, 2027. It combines academic study of secure systems, cyber‑operations and AI with industry‑immersive placements in the second and third years, including an online Secure AI Lab and supervised activities with CyberCX. Up to 15 graduates each year may join the CyberCX Academy, providing a direct pathway into the cyber‑security workforce.

The programme is positioned as a response to the acute shortage of professionals able to protect AI systems from cyber threats and aligns with the Australian Government’s National AI Plan, aiming to build an AI‑ready cyber workforce for the nation’s emerging AI‑enabled economy.
