Monastery Products Festival opens at Saint Sava Temple

The seventh Festival of Monastery Products has opened on the plateau in front of the Saint Sava Temple in Belgrade. The event brings together 43 monasteries from various eparchies of the Serbian Orthodox Church to showcase their traditional crafts and goods.

Visitors can explore a wide range of products created in monastery workshops, including food items, honey, wine, spirits, herbal preparations, natural cosmetics, oils, icons, and books. The festival serves as a platform for the public to learn about the lifestyle of monks and nuns and the preservation of ancient skills and recipes adapted to modern times.

Archpriest Borislav Petrić noted that the event has grown significantly since its inception, expanding from 10 participating monasteries to 43 this year. He described the festival as a map of Serbian spiritual and cultural heritage, aiming to bring the work and prayer of monastic communities closer to the people in the capital.
