Monclova hosts historical Hidalgo trail ride with 520 riders

More than 520 riders participated in the second annual Cabalgata del Sendero de Hidalgo, a commemorative ride through the Coahuila region to honor the historical route of Miguel Hidalgo. This year, the route was expanded to begin in Castaños before proceeding to Monclova.

Monclova Mayor Carlos Villarreal Pérez stated that the event aims to preserve the historical memory of the region and connect new generations with the events surrounding the Mexican War of Independence. The route commemorates the path taken by Hidalgo after his capture in Acatita de Baján, during which he was held in the building that currently houses the Coahuila y Texas Museum.

Organizers intend to further extend the route in future editions to reach Acatita de Baján. Beyond its cultural significance, the event is viewed as a way to boost regional tourism and stimulate the local economy through increased participation in commercial services and hospitality.
