Monclova infant to receive specialized care in Monterrey

A premature infant from Monclova is being transferred to a specialized medical unit in Monterrey for advanced treatment. The baby, born at 30 weeks gestation, has been diagnosed with type 3 esophageal atresia, a congenital malformation requiring surgical intervention.

The infant's condition has been critical, involving two cardiac arrests and two instances of intubation. Following a request from the family, the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) confirmed the transfer to the Medical Unit of High Specialization (UMAE) number 25 in Monterrey to provide third-level specialized care.
