Monclova sees economic boost from school season and government programs

Monclova is experiencing economic activity driven by the back-to-school season and new government social programs. Local businesses, particularly stationery stores and those selling school supplies, uniforms, and footwear, have reported sales increases of between 20 and 30 percent. Arturo Valdés Pérez, president of the Monclova Chamber of Commerce (Canaco), noted that federal student scholarships have also helped families begin their seasonal shopping.

Simultaneously, the Mejora Coahuila program is working to strengthen coordination between different levels of government to address the needs of the population in Monclova and the Central Region. The initiative aims to create a direct connection with citizens to identify and channel their requirements to the appropriate agencies, supporting both public policy and regional economic reactivation.
