Mondial de la Bière festival expands in Rio de Janeiro

The 14th edition of Mondial de la Bière Brasil, Latin America’s largest international craft beer festival, will take place at Pier Mauá in Rio de Janeiro from October 29 to November 1, 2026. The event is expanding its scope to include a robust gastronomic program, musical performances, and industry-focused content alongside its traditional beer offerings.

The festival will feature 250 national and international breweries presenting over 1,500 labels. Previous editions have attracted approximately 40,000 visitors and generated R$ 35 million for the Rio de Janeiro economy. The 2026 lineup includes various musical acts such as Sandra Sá, Serjão Loroza, and Arlindinho.

Garrett Oliver, a prominent brewer from New York’s Brooklyn Brewery, will attend the festival. For the occasion, Oliver has developed ‘Tropicália’, a beer brewed with local Brazilian ingredients including cashew, cajá, and sugarcane juice. Oliver noted the potential for underutilized local fruits in the industry and discussed regional differences in Brazilian craft beer styles.
