Mondial de l'Auto showcases autonomous and electric vehicles in Paris

The 91st edition of the Mondial de l'Auto has opened to the public in Paris, showcasing nearly 90 models from 20 brands, including electric, hybrid, and autonomous vehicles from companies like Tesla and Xpeng.

During the event, French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the importance of autonomous vehicle development and innovation to help European manufacturers compete with Chinese brands, which currently account for over 10% of European sales. Macron visited major industry players including Renault, Stellantis, and Valeo to emphasize electrification and technological sovereignty.

In addition to mainstream manufacturers, the salon features specialized projects such as the Burton Electric, a 100% electric roadster developed by Méhari Club Cassis and eClassic Cars. This model represents the growing trend of retrofitting classic automotive heritage with modern electric propulsion.
