Mondragone: Man arrested for attempted robbery using fake pistol

A 38-year-old man from Sparanise was arrested after attempting to rob a bar in Mondragone, Italy, on the evening of August 16. The suspect allegedly entered the establishment along Via Domiziana and used his hand under his t-shirt to simulate the shape of a pistol, demanding that the owner and an employee hand over the cash from the register.

The attempt failed when the victims hesitated, prompting the suspect to move behind the counter. A physical altercation ensued between the man and the employee before the Carabinieri arrived to intervene. Authorities confirmed that no actual weapon was present. The suspect has been transferred to the Santa Maria Capua Vetere prison and faces charges of attempted robbery.
