Mone Kamishiraishi stars in new TBS time-slip drama

The TBS Tuesday drama ‘Iroha no Koi wa Jidai o Kakeru’ has premiered, starring Mone Kamishiraishi in a dual role. The romantic comedy follows the soul of Iroha, a spirited daughter of a messenger from the mid-Edo period, who time-slips into the body of a modern-day elementary school teacher, Ayaha Nashiki.

Kamishiraishi portrays both characters, contrasting the boisterous, Edo-period personality with the more reserved modern teacher. The production features a high-profile cast including Koji Mukai of Snow Man, Jutarou Yamanaka of M!LK, and Motoki Ohmori of Mrs. GREEN APPLE.

While the first episode recorded a household viewership rating of 5.5% in the Kanto region, social media reception has been largely positive, praising Kamishiraishi’s ability to handle the character's distinct dialect and dual roles.
