Monero users shift to decentralized swaps amid exchange restrictions

The landscape for Monero (XMR) acquisition is shifting as centralized exchanges implement stricter access controls. Major platforms, including Binance, OKX, and Kraken, have previously delisted or restricted XMR pairs, prompting users to seek alternative methods for maintaining financial sovereignty.

To mitigate the risks of centralized execution bottlenecks and automated compliance freezes, many users are moving toward decentralized platforms and instant swap services. These services allow for one-time orders without traditional registration, reducing the personal data trail. However, users should note that “no registration” does not guarantee immunity from automated AML screening, which can still flag and pause transactions requiring documentation.
