Monetary Authority of Singapore allocates S$1.45bn to five asset managers

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has allocated S$1.45 billion to five asset managers as part of the third batch of its Equity Market Development Programme (EQDP). The appointed managers are Amundi, Franklin Templeton, HSBC Asset Management, M&G Investments, and Natixis Investment Managers.

This latest allocation brings the total amount distributed under the EQDP to S$5.4 billion out of a total S$6.5 billion fund. The initiative aims to boost Singapore’s domestic equity market by leveraging the global distribution networks of these managers to attract international capital.

Additionally, MAS will commit S$20 million from the Financial Sector Development Fund to a market-making grant under the Grant for Equity Market Singapore (Gems) scheme. This grant is designed to improve trading liquidity for approximately 80 small and mid-cap stocks, as well as newly listed companies, through 2028.
