MoneyGram Ramps launches on Solana to enable cash-to-crypto services

MoneyGram has launched its Ramps service on the Solana blockchain, expanding its multi-chain capabilities beyond its previous exclusivity to the Stellar network. The integration allows developers, exchanges, and wallets to implement fiat on-and-off-ramps through a single API, facilitating direct transactions between physical cash and digital assets.

This rollout eliminates the need for Solana-based applications to use third-party bridges to access MoneyGram’s retail network. The service supports cash-to-crypto and crypto-to-cash trading, with the ability to deposit and withdraw cash in over 25 countries and access services in more than 170 countries and territories. MoneyGram maintains a global network of nearly 500,000 retail locations.

Rift has become the first Solana wallet to integrate the MoneyGram Ramps service. Additionally, MoneyGram continues its involvement with the network as an active validator on Solana.
