MoneyGram targeted by The Gentlemen ransomware gang
The ransomware group known as ‘The Gentlemen’ has claimed to have successfully attacked MoneyGram, a major global payment network. The group is threatening to release stolen data unless negotiations are initiated.
MoneyGram serves approximately 60 million active customers across more than 200 countries. While the attackers have posted claims on the dark web, the company has not yet confirmed a breach, and the group has not released any data samples to verify the theft.
Security experts note that financial organizations are frequent targets for such groups. Analysts advise that MoneyGram customers and employees should remain vigilant against potential phishing attempts and unauthorized account activity while the situation develops.
