Police in Mong Cai, Quang Ninh province, have summoned seven individuals following the assault of a taxi driver on August 30. The victim, identified as Nguyen Tien Dat (born 1998), was attacked by a group of passengers after he refused to pick up additional people, citing the vehicle's four-passenger capacity.

According to preliminary investigations, the group, which appeared to have been consuming alcohol, engaged in verbal abuse and physical violence inside the vehicle. When the driver attempted to flee the car near a local bar, the group and several others pursued him, using hands, feet, shoes, and sticks to strike him.

The driver was subsequently transported to Vinmec Hospital for medical treatment. Authorities are currently investigating the extent of the injuries and the specific responsibilities of the seven summoned individuals to determine legal consequences.
