Mongaguá, Brazil and Abrantes, Portugal add new police patrol vehicles

In Mongaguá, Brazil, two new patrol vehicles were delivered to the Guarda Civil Municipal, bringing the municipal fleet to seven vehicles acquired in the past year. The vehicles, equipped with automatic transmissions and reinforced ballistic protection, are intended for rapid emergency response and regular patrols under the city’s “Segurança Mais Forte” program, which also includes upgrades to monitoring technology and officer training.

In Abrantes, Portugal, the municipal council handed over two patrol vehicles – one to the local Public Security Police (PSP) squad and another to the territorial unit of the National Republican Guard (GNR). The hand‑over, valued at €67,400, supports the PSP’s “Escola Segura” initiative and enhances GNR operations in rural and hard‑to‑reach areas. Local officials highlighted the deliveries as concrete steps to improve public safety and community policing.
