MongoDB launches new tools to provide AI agents live data access

MongoDB has introduced several new capabilities designed to integrate AI agents more deeply into the agentic coding stack. A central feature is the Atlas Managed MCP Server, which provides a fully hosted method for connecting AI agents to MongoDB Atlas without requiring developers to maintain additional infrastructure. This allows coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Grok Build, and Devin to query, inspect, and update live operational data directly.

Additionally, MongoDB is integrating Voyage AI retrieval capabilities into Atlas. This includes Automated Embeddings, which automatically embed new and updated data to ensure AI applications have access to current context, as well as a new Atlas Embedding and Reranking API. The company also unveiled the voyage-code-4 model, which is specifically optimized for coding agents to match information to code with higher precision. These updates aim to lower operational overhead and allow developers to use plain language to interact with data through tools like ChatGPT and Claude.
