MONKEY MAJIK celebrates 20th anniversary with new album ‘Frequency’

Japanese rock band MONKEY MAJIK is celebrating their 20th major debut anniversary with the release of their 15th original album, ‘Frequency’, on September 2, 2026. The album features a diverse range of sounds, including indie rock, funk, and chill tracks, reflecting the individual creativity of the band members.

Key highlights of the album include collaborations with JO1’s Takumi Kawanishi on the track ‘Unstoppable’ and songwriter Sora Tomonari on ‘haneto’. Additionally, the album marks the first time members TAX and DICK have taken on production roles for the tracks ‘Objection’ and ‘Anytime’, respectively.

To commemorate this milestone, the band has announced the ‘MONKEY MAJIK 20th Major Anniversary Tour ~Thank You~’, which will visit six cities across Japan starting in January 2027. A Blu-ray version of the album will also include footage from their 25th-anniversary live performance held in April 2025.
