New Jersey toddler killed by reversing SUV at farm
A two-year-old boy, James Gabriel, was killed on Saturday morning after being struck by a reversing Chrysler SUV in the parking lot of Bullock Farms in Upper Freehold Township, New Jersey.
The toddler was walking hand-in-hand with his grandmother, 66-year-old Ellen Gabriel, when the vehicle struck them. While the boy was rushed to Jersey Shore Medical Center, he succumbed to blunt force trauma injuries. Ellen Gabriel survived the incident with injuries that were described as minor to serious, and she is currently recovering.
The boy's parents, Robert and Meiling Gabriel, stated that the family had just arrived at the farm for a pumpkin-picking outing. State Police are currently investigating the crash, and it remains unclear if the driver will face charges.
