Monodrama ‘Ana Katarina’ to be performed in Novi Vinodolski and Rijeka

The monodrama ‘Ana Katarina’ will be performed in Novi Vinodolski on August 28 and in Rijeka on August 29. Directed by Edi Mužina and performed by Ana Vilenica, the play explores the life of Ana Katarina Frankopan Zrinski, a prominent 17th-century Croatian figure.

The production utilizes personal memories, poetry, and previously hidden correspondence to portray her experiences with family, love, and political upheaval, including the loss of her husband Petar Zrinski and brother Fran Krsto Frankopan. A notable technical feature of the performance is its binaural sound design, which allows the audience to experience the story through headphones, creating a three-dimensional auditory effect.

The project is part of the ‘Putovima Frankopana’ initiative in the Primorsko-goranska County, aimed at revitalizing cultural heritage through modern content. Admission to the performances is free.
