Monomyth Games announces time-travel photography game Photo Roboto

Australian developer Monomyth Games has announced its new title, ‘Photo Roboto: A Timesnap Adventure’, a cozy photography adventure set on a vibrant Italian island. Scheduled for release on PC via Steam in 2027, the game marks a significant genre shift for the studio, which previously gained recognition for the surveillance thriller ‘Need to Know’.

Players take on the role of Peppino, a robot running a photography business on the island of Pallacanezza. Utilizing a ‘Timewarp Camera’, players can capture images of the past, present, and future to solve problems for over 100 human and robotic characters. The narrative follows Peppino’s efforts to investigate a mysterious curse that has led the local mayor to lock down the island.

Gameplay features include exploring various districts such as Roman ruins and scenic beaches, collecting special lenses to unlock new camera abilities, and customizing both the photography storefront and the character. The game emphasizes a relaxed pace, allowing players to explore the island at their own speed while managing their business star rating.
