Monor to host 20th edition of traditional folklore festival

The village of Monor is set to host the 20th edition of ‘Zilele Monorului’ on August 30, 2026. The event, organized by the Bistrița-Năsăud County Council, the Monor Mayoralty, and local religious and cultural institutions, focuses on community traditions and reuniting former residents with their birthplace.

The program begins at 09:00 with a religious service, followed by folk music performances starting at 14:00. Featured performers include the ‘Baltagul’ Folk Ensemble, ‘Cununa Grâului’, ‘Măgura Șieului’, and ‘Izvorașul Rece’. The professional ensemble ‘Dor Românesc’ Bistrița will also present a traditional dance and song spectacle. The festivities will conclude with a fireworks display at 21:00.
