Monreale launches study‑abroad scholarship and begins restoration of historic Gagini triptych

The municipality of Monreale has reopened applications for the “Global Education” scholarship, which will fund two study‑abroad placements in an English‑speaking country for students who graduate from local high schools in the 2025/2026 academic year. Applications must be submitted by 4 August 2026 to the municipal protocol office or via certified e‑mail.

At the same time, Monreale has started a restoration of the 1528 terracotta triptych attributed to Renaissance sculptor Antonello Gagini. The project, financed with €333,333.33 from the regional department of local autonomies and public function, is being carried out by restorer Belinda Giambra under the technical direction of architect Finella Badagliacca. The restoration site will be open to the public, allowing citizens, scholars and visitors to observe the work as it progresses.
