Monster Energy and Wawa sued over alleged rodent in drink can
Teddy Soto, a resident of Cape May County, has filed a lawsuit in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court alleging he discovered a rodent carcass inside a Bang energy drink can. The incident reportedly occurred in January 2025 after Soto purchased the beverage at a Wawa in Cumberland County.
Soto claims that while consuming the drink, he felt something touch his lips and subsequently discovered the remains of a rodent at the bottom of the can using his phone's camera. The lawsuit names both Monster Energy, which owns the Bang brand, and Wawa as defendants, alleging the product was defective, contaminated, and unsafe for consumption. Soto is seeking unspecified damages for physical and psychological harm.
Monster Energy has previously dismissed similar allegations of finding rodents in its products as a 'hoax,' stating it would be impossible for a rodent to be sealed inside a can.
