In the United States, firefighters are working to contain the Hok fire in the Sierra Nevada foothills near Reno, Nevada. The fire has affected approximately 60 square kilometers, destroyed at least 32 homes, and led to the evacuation of tens of thousands of people. Officials report that no new spread has been observed since Sunday.

Meanwhile, Mont Blanc has recorded a record 450 rockfalls since the beginning of the year. Record temperatures have caused ice to melt, resulting in the closure of all three classic climbing routes due to high risks.
