Montage Technology begins mass production of 9200 MT/s DDR5 clock driver chips
Montage Technology has announced the mass production of its next-generation CK01P client clock driver (CKD) chip, which supports DDR5 memory transfer speeds of up to 9,200 MT/s. The chip complies with JEDEC DDR5CKD01 specifications and is designed for various next-generation memory modules, including DDR5 CUDIMM, CSODIMM, CQDIMM, and CAMM.
The CK01P features a zero-phase delay clock driver architecture and supports three clock driving modes: single PLL, double PLL, and PLL bypass. This flexibility allows the chip to match different DIMM network topologies and reduce power consumption by disabling unused clock outputs.
Additionally, the company has begun mass production of the RCD05 CKD, a chip intended for server-oriented DDR5 RDIMM, which enables speeds of up to 8,000 MT/s. According to President Stephen Tai, these advancements are driven by the increasing demand for memory bandwidth, signal integrity, and energy efficiency as AI applications expand into client platforms.
