Montalbano Elicona mayor issues warning over deteriorating provincial roads

The Mayor of Montalbano Elicona, Antonino Todaro, has issued a formal warning to the Messina Metropolitan City regarding the deteriorating state of provincial roads. Following technical monitoring that revealed significant pavement damage, depressions, and structural failures, authorities have imposed a 20 km/h speed limit on three specific sections of road between kilometers 5 and 9.

Mayor Todaro stated that while the speed reduction is a necessary safety measure, it is not a permanent solution to the underlying infrastructure issues. The municipal administration has been requesting urgent repairs and consistent maintenance for months, but has instead faced delays. The speed limit will remain in effect indefinitely until the road conditions are fully restored.
