Montana defeats Utah Tech 35-14 as Eli Gillman ties record
Montana defeated Utah Tech 35-14 in a nonconference football game on Saturday. Eli Gillman led the Montana offense with 147 rushing yards and three touchdowns, including a 75-yard run in the fourth quarter.
With his performance, Gillman tied the Big Sky Conference record for rushing touchdowns with 56, matching Charles Roberts of Sacramento State. He also established a new Montana school record for total touchdowns with 60. Brooks Davis contributed significantly with 12 receptions for 151 yards.
Montana, ranked third in the Stats Perform FCS poll, finished the game with 462 total yards. Utah Tech, which is 0-3, recorded 405 yards and scored through a 1-yard run by Bronson Barben and a 60-yard pass from Barben to Mike Williams.
