Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) has opened a public comment period regarding the planning for the 2026-2027 ice fishing contest season. The agency is seeking input from anglers, local residents, and enthusiasts concerning tournament schedules and how specific lakes manage tournament traffic.

Interested parties can submit feedback via email or telephone until August 29. Additionally, the agency reminded contest organizers to adhere to documentation schedules, noting that official post-contest reports must be submitted within 30 days of an event's conclusion.
