Montana fishing reports show active walleye and trout patterns

Fishing reports for Montana reservoirs indicate active seasonal patterns for various species. At Hauser, trout are appearing near Spokane Bay, with brown trout expected to move into spawning areas soon. Walleye are biting well off weed lines and near rocky points, signaling the emergence of fall patterns. Large clouds of small minnow-like bait have also been observed.

At Regulating Reservoir, Kokanee are being caught at depths between 10 and 35 feet, primarily via kayak trolling. Meanwhile, at Canyon Ferry, the south end continues to see strong walleye activity using bottom bouncer or Lindy rig techniques, particularly in areas like Hole in the Wall and Goose Flats. The north end of Canyon Ferry has seen slower fishing, though quality trout are being caught with jigs and jerkbaits in the stretch from White Earth to the dam.
