Montana gas prices rise to 9th highest in U.S

Gasoline prices in Montana have increased by 8.6 cents per gallon over the last week, bringing the state average to $4.31. This rise places Montana as the 9th highest state for gas prices in the U.S. Current prices in the state are 22.6 cents higher than a month ago and $1.08 higher than the previous year.

National gasoline averages have risen to $4.02 per gallon, while diesel prices have seen a more significant weekly increase of 14.3 cents, averaging $5.42 per gallon. Analysts attribute the upward pressure on the market to rebounding oil prices, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries, which have particularly impacted refined product prices.
