Political activity is intensifying in Montana ahead of the 2026 general election, marked by significant endorsements from both conservative and moderate figures.
Americans for Prosperity-Montana (AFP-MT) has endorsed five candidates for the state Senate and House. The endorsed candidates include Jessica Dyrdahl, Jason Gunderson, Steve LaPraim, Bob Crank, and Derek Peachey. AFP-MT aims to advance a policy agenda focused on education reform, property tax reform, housing reform, and a flat income tax.
In the race for Montana’s 1st Congressional District, former Republican National Committee chairman and former Montana Governor Marc Racicot has endorsed Democrat Sam Forstag. Forstag is seeking to flip the seat currently held by Republican Ryan Zinke, who has announced he will not seek re-election. The Republican candidate for the seat is Aaron Flint, a combat veteran who has received an endorsement from Donald Trump.
